When creating this new body of work, we knew we wanted to carry over our minimalistic roots while exploring themes addressing culture, communication, and uncertainty. Animals appear as guides, helping us navigate these complex human issues. Our palette is oftentimes filled with white, having the same effect as the space between notes during a song; allowing respite for the eye and accenting the bright colors alongside it. We focus on a colorful underpainting to reappear in unexpected ways through a distressing and editing process using palette work, sanding, and etching in the paint.
