Joaquin Abrego is a professional interior designer with an affinity for pop art and culture. He has always had a creative side, but has only recently begun developing his own art using stencil and aerosol over the past few years. He has since exhibited work in various studio tours and pop up events from Houston to his native San Antonio, and was one of the participants in Ao5 Gallery’s recent Contemporary Texas group exhibition. Joaquin finds he is inspired by his work in interior design, by strong female role models, as well as queer & drag culture. His work is best known for its bold use of color & textile patterns. Maintaining a sense of humor and light-heartedness within his artwork is important to him.
