Creative collective and artists’ space Leroy’s Place is the brainchild of New York artist Serene Bacigalupi. She is best known for her whimsical “Monster Makeover” paintings in which she gives vintage artwork new life by adding original characters into the landscape with ink and paint pen. See Serene's interview on Todd Talks and learn more about her creative creatures.
Serene has had solo exhibitions of her original paintings at Oleander Gallery in New Orleans, exhibitions in Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, and LA. Her whimsical collection of monster paintings and illustrated acrylic jewelry has been featured on VH1, and in Refinery 29, Daily Candy, Nylon Magazine, and TimeOut New York.
