New Owners of Ao5 Gallery
Dan and Camille Easton are excited to announce they have acquired Ao5 Gallery from its founder, Joe Sigel. Sigel first opened the gallery in 1998 in the former Austin’s Children’s Museum building on West 5th Street in old west Austin. Sigel relocated the gallery to South Lamar in 2014, and subsequently rebranded from “Art on 5th” to Ao5 Gallery. The gallery has expanded significantly over the years, becoming the largest contemporary art gallery in Austin.
Many frequent visitors to the gallery recognize Todd Gresley as the face of Ao5 Gallery. Gresley, having over 22 years of experience in the industry, will continue his current role as Gallery Director moving forward. “It’s been thrilling to be the Gallery Director for the past 5 years. I am elated to take Ao5 Gallery into its 3rd decade with the new owners and continue to bring exciting and innovative shows that cannot be seen anywhere else in Austin.”
The Eastons recently returned to Austin in late 2018 after spending 14 years away. “We were incredibly impressed with what we saw,” said Dan Easton. “The gallery has a first-class team of talented art and framing professionals that do outstanding, award-winning work. We are excited about the opportunity to continue Ao5 Gallery’s legacy in Austin and look forward to getting acquainted with the arts community in general, and our customers and artists in particular.”
