Over a decade ago, world-renowned writer, J.K. Rowling created the world of Harry Potter, capturing the imaginations of millions of children and adults worldwide. Since then, followers of “the boy who lived” have seen him grow up through a seven-book series that takes place in a magical world of castles, creatures, witches and wizards.
To bring this deeply imaginative story to the movie screen, series producer David Heyman enlisted an outstanding team of filmmakers including award-winning production designer Stuart Craig. Craigs philosophy of filmmaking is about giving the audience effective images for following the plot while eliminating anything that would hinder understanding the storyline. The result of his meticulous study of Rowling’s world is a series of production designs rendered during the process of the films’ creation, including concept art sketches, digitally rendered images as well as finished frames from the film.
